Allow us to introduce ourselves, our blog, and what we’ll be talking about in it. First and foremost, we are Polina and Alexandra. We are the new Marketing Assistants/Ambassadors for Kent Round One – the UoK student enterprise centre that provides you with all the great opportunities to help you get the most from your time at Kent.

We are both second year students at the University of Kent, working towards a BBA in Business Administration. After being involved in a variety of events, competitions, challenges, summer placements, business enterprises, charities and societies we have decided that it is a great time to start sharing all our knowledge and experience gained so far with YOU.

Our initial plans are to keep a schedule that keeps you informed about all the enterprise events happening at Kent and beyond and raise awareness about the new, emerging student businesses:

Monday’s focus will be the “Business Monday”. A weekly post which will keep you aware of the news and events planned for that week, followed by a rap-up of the past events and their outcome.

Friday will be a grab bag. Some things, some interviews with local movers and shakers, some features on things that we have done or seen, or some event focused posts where we talk about a networking event, conference or something of that sort.

So, we hope that you will read. We hope that you will comment. We hope that you will send us some of your ideas about your business hopes and dreams, likes and dislikes and things that you think should be featured in this blog. And also, while you’re at it, please take the time to read our fellow blogger: Andrew Davison.

We’ll be talking to you soon,

Alexandra and Polina

Who has the most enterprising students?

Canterbury Christ Church v University of Kent

Ever watched the Apprentice – think you can do better? Then why not have a go in the £10 Challenge

Ten Pounds – Two Weeks – What Can You Do?

Start date is 1st February andend date midday 15th February. Start planning now how you can raise the most in two weeks from £10s and register before the 1st February with Tracy Crowther for UoK or Carol Clewlow for CCCU.

You can work on your own, or group your £10s together in a team (profit based on each £10 unit) and try and raise as much money as you can. You can buy cheap and sell higher, you can create or make and sell (no food prep though) you can invest, you can run events, you can reinvest any profit you raise to make more in the two weeks of the challenge. All you need to do is collect your £10, and start thinking up some profit making ideas – all from the start of £10!
Three basic rules:
1.It must be LEGAL 2.It must be ethical 3.You must only use the £10 to start
Come and collect your £10 on the 1st February and see what you can raise in two weeks.
