To be delivered by Peter Cook, MD of Human Dynamics and The Academy of Rock. Peter’s career has traversed working as a scientist, international pharmaceutical troubleshooter, business academic, rock musician and author of three books on leadership, innovation and creativity. Expect the session to be both thought-provoking and enjoyable. He will discuss lessons learned in the context of those of you thinking of starting out as entrepreneurs.
PAST EVENTS 3rd March 2011
The KAYE ‘Success Sessions’ introduced by Jonnie Jensen with Richard Oldfield.
Everyone wants success. It comes in different shapes and sizes and means different things to different people. So how do you know when you have success? Each session is designed to help you identify success and equip you with greater knowledge that you can use in your business.
Richard Oldfield, chief executive of Oldfield Partners, an investment management firm which he founded in 2005 after nine years as chief executive of a family investment office and which has approximately £2 billion under management for pension funds, charities and families. Before that he was a director of Mercury Asset Management plc which he joined in 1977. He became chairman of the Oxford University investment committee and Oxford University Endowment Management Ltd in January 2007 and was chairman of Keystone Investment Trust plc from 2001 to 2010. Simple but not easy, his slightly autobiographical and heavily biased book about investing, was published in June 2007. He is a trustee of Leeds Castle Foundation and of Canterbury Cathedral Trust and president of Demelza House Children’s Hospice. He is a former chairman of MCCH Ltd and was High Sheriff of Kent 2008-9.
“Last night’s Success Session with David Philpot was absolutely brilliant. David shared with us personal and business experiences in a charismatic and engaging manner. I learnt a great deal about him, about working in the charity / 3rd sector and most of all took a reality check on my views on what success means.”
