Business Startup

Here at the University of Kent, we offer many ways to encourage our students and recent graduates to develop the skills, knowledge and expertise necessary to find the career and lifestyle of choice .

Many of our courses incorporate project work and placements within companies, as well as the opportunity to work in the Universities own student run consultancies. We run a number of different enterprise and entrepreneurial credited opportunities throughout the year including the wild module CB612, and CB613, and CO865 the postgraduate module open to postgraduates under their postgraduate transferable skills training. These courses will help you to develop your employability and give you the tools you need to potentially set up your own business.

We also offer a series of Enterprise Tuesday early evening events, as well as opening the monthly Network612 forum to all interested students. We also run an annual business start up competition, and a chance to compete with universities across the country in the IBM Universities Business Challenge.

Our Student Innovation Zone wants to encourage more innovative enterprise and support ideas that may require protection by patent. This year sees the opening of The Bulb, our student ideas and business incubator unit.

Business start-up services are available to all current students and graduates of the University. Check out the Link page for many online support and information services available. You can also view the Business Training podcasts with your Univerity of Kent user ID.
